Anthonie Berrangé de Jonge was admitted as a member of the Cape church community 21 December 1756. He married Elizabeth Fleck, the sister of Rev. Christiaan Fleck of Cape Town. He went on to become a merchant and prominent burgher. On 10 December 1782 he was appointed "kommissaris van Civiele en huwelijxzaken". On 17 December 1782 he gained permission of the governor to send his son, Johannes Christoffel Berrangé, to Europe to be educated.
