Everything works out for the good

Everything Works Together for our good (Rom 8:39): “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him” ….this is such a well known cliché that sometimes we do not recognize the enormous promise contained in it.

Romans 8:28 is a powerful promise of God, “all-inclusive, all-powerful, and always available.” This is one of the most powerful promises of God. This promise is as powerful as God Himself! It is full of the same love that God showed when he gave the world his one and only Son. (John 3:16). This promise does what God can do. This promise can touch and heal any hurt. It is not pot based on positive thinking; it is grounded in a living God. It is not something to be strived for, it is a guarantee. It is also not wishful thinking, but God’s loving participation in every day of your life. It is so important to God, that He is able to move mountains to warrant it!

Can He? Can He carry out this unlimited promise? He can, but do you believe it? What you believe about God and His omnipotence, His love, – these are summerised in this promise. What you do with this promise depends on what you believe. In other words, do you believe that God can move mountains if it is in your interests? Do you believe that God does indeed seek your well-being and blessing, because of His unfailing love for you? If you do not recognize this, be still and think about your belief in God, because this promise is linked to what you believe about God. What you believe will influence the effect of this promise on your life.

Think about this: what if you know that everything works out for the good, regardless of the problem or hurt you are facing? What if this is really so? What if this really works? What if it is really true that there is no problem, no situation, no power or force that is not covered by this promise? What if the Lord can give you a permanent and certain guarantee that He will work everything out to your best advantage? Well, He has done so – Rom.8:28 is there in your Bible, unless your Bible does not include this verse! As certain as these words do occur in your Bible between Rom.8:27 and 29, equally certain is the fact that He will work out everything for your good. Why? Because He loves you! So much that He gave his only Son for the redemption of your sin. So much, that he also promised that neither angels or demons or anything else can separate you from the love of God – the love that He has for you through Jesus Christ. This promise is not a stereotyped phrase. It is the true, Spirit-filled promise of a Living, Almighty, Omnipresent Creator (and Re-creator) God. He holds your head above water?

What if this promise will hold whatever comes your way? Would it have made a difference in your life, your thoughts, and your feelings? Believe this then and cling fast to it. What is everything? EVERYTHING! – small problems, big issues, even the death of a loved one! There is nothing that can happen in this life, nothing that can be thrown in your way, over which God has no control. There is nothing that can happen outside His will and control. Satan has been overcome! God cannot be caught off-sides by any person or any thing that tries to overturn your life! Everything! Everything works together for good …..

Admittedly, we do not always see the “good” immediately, or even after a few months or even years. And you may differ with God for years about what is for your “good” as you see it. But this does not deny the fact that the Almighty Creator-God actually knows precisely what is in your best interests, and this, with or without your approval, can bring it to pass. And whether you believe it or accept it or not, it remains an unbelievable promise and comfort ….. and eventually, a confession of faith! For good does not necessarily mean that God will allow what you see as “for good”; for good is not a magic wand, or something by which you can manipulate God. For good is a confession of faith – that I trust God enough to know that whatever flows out of a situation, it will be in my best interest! This is a promise to cling to a Creator-God who is in control, throughout my suffering!

This is written for those whom He loves: and that is you, you who are reading is at this moment. It is also for those who do not yet know or love Him. This is the unbelievable God, He calls, He picks us out. He cannot wait for us to return to the Father’s House to feast with Him. Sometimes we think that we have drifted so far away, that we cannot possibly be included in this “group”, in this His company. You can! The love of God is without limits. God IS Love!

No matter what crisis you are experiencing, or even if you are only heart sore over something or someone, possibly a life-threatening issue … believe God when he says that everything will work together for good! Hold fast to this belief! Also read.Romans 8:35-38 in this connection: “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble, or hardship, or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: ‘For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered’. No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Jesus Christ our Lord.”
